My name is Francesca Nicotra and I am 52 years old. After years spent in projects designing and management for NGO’s, I feel to have got a good experience in the management of all project life cycle and to have acquired the sensitiveness of understanding and analyzing problems and needs in the contexts where they are arising, as well as the attitude to act in a positive manner in order to contribute to their solution and answers.

Moreover I’ve got a long experience in editing Italian, English and
German texts acquired through a long collaboration with a primary
Italian cultural institution and publishing house, the Istituto della
Enciclopedia Italiana – Treccani.

16 years of expertise in the management of projects pipelining, from
grants negotiation with donors to budgeting, financial and administrative
coordination, activities planning, procurement, monitoring and internal
evaluation. For 8 years Vice President of the Italian NGO Cooperazione
italiana Nord Sud (CINS), Head of Projects Unit and liaison officer with
the European Commission Humanitarian Office (ECHO). Development of NGO
policies; Negotiation and institutional agreements with donors, partners,
and local authorities; Elaboration of internal monitoring and reporting
procedures; Coordination of projects, particularly in the field of rural
development, health care, human rights protection. In charge of
communication initiatives, including organization of international
workshops, technical and cultural initiatives, project visibility and
reporting to stakeholders. Familiar with EC documents and directives as
well as with funding procedures. Gender sensitive approach in dealing
with civil society and other development partners.

About 20 years of collaboration with the Istituto della Enciclopedia
Italiana, in Rome, as member of the editorial office of the review
Archives internationales d’histoire des sciences, where I was editing
texts of history of sciences in Italian, English and German up to the
printing.

Personally, I define myself as a reliable, multifaceted and open-minded
person, with a results-oriented attitude and with an insatiable
appetite to keep learning. I have always demonstrated through my
previous working experience and my academic career commitment to
excellence. I would be glad to continue this commitment by working with
international non profit institutions.
