My name is Dimitris Dagdeverenis and I come from Greece. I have completed a Bachelor of Balkan Studies at the University of Western Macedonia, Greece and a Master of Arts in “Economic and Political Governance in South-Eastern Europe” at the same university as well. In 2011 I obtained my Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Kent, United Kingdom.
Through studies I had the opportunity to develop my interest in international development and through travels I have observed the great social and economic inequalities which are present at almost every corner of the world. It is my strong belief that volunteering not only can remedy these situations but also be a positive force for change. It is exactly this belief that motivated me to volunteer for Community Empowerment Collective.
I have a passion for travelling and meeting new people – not just for the sake of amusement, but because these experiences can broaden your horizons and deepen your understanding on many issues and in many ways.
In my free time, I enjoy reading (mainly about international politics and affairs as well as classical literature), conducting research in my field of study, socializing with friends, walking, working on UNOV assignments and planning my next travel destination.
“Carpe diem” – this is my life motto and the advice that I usually (if not always) give to my friends.
