• Did you know?  The main thoroughfare of Victoria, Douglas Street, is named after the Governor of Vancouver Island in the 1850s, Sir James Douglas, who in 1858 became the first Governor of British Columbia.  He was of African and Scottish descent.
• Several students asked me why I chose Obo as the community to study for my PhD.  Bit of a story in that.  I wrote up the tale and added it to the Akan studies site.
