COMMUNITY PROJECT PROPOSAL CHAPTERS
Training Handout
The following outline of chapters can be used for both a project proposal (seeking money or approval) or for a project design (a planning tool)
Chapters
Title Page: date, project title, location(s), name of your organization, and other necessary single line information
Background: causes of the problem, not descriptions
Goals: solution[s] to the identified problem
Objectives: verifiable specific outputs of the project, specific amounts, completion dates
Beneficiaries: target group, who, size, characteristics
Activities and Targets: inputs of the project, what resources are needed, including land, tools, supplies, cash, labour, planning, management (local, outside). How much of each is needed
The Schedule: each action when, time plan
The Organization: set-up, agency profile, who does what
Costs & Benefits: value of output, cost per beneficiary
Monitoring: how to observe if objectives reached
Reporting: how often, to whom, including what
Appendices:
- Lists;
- Documents;
- Maps;
- Detailed Budget;
- Diagrams; and/or
- Detailed Descriptions.
